Frequently asked questions
- 01
Upcycling is the process of transforming waste materials or unwanted products into new items of higher value or quality. At Jonnon, we upcycle retired street banners and deadstock fabrics to create unique and durable products like tote bags and lunch bags.
- 02
While recycling breaks down materials to their basic elements to create new products, upcycling maintains the original item’s structure and repurposes it in a way that enhances its value and utility. Upcycling often involves creative re-use, leading to unique and personalized items.
- 03
Jonnon's upcycling efforts not only help the environment but also provide meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who face barriers to full-time employment. This helps create a positive impact on our community by supporting local artisans and promoting social inclusion.
- 04
While we primarily use retired street banners and deadstock fabrics sourced from Business Improvements Area (BIA), municipalities, and other specific partners, we're always open to discussing other fabrics used at sports events, billboards, music festivals, custom tablecloths from weddings/events, job fair flags, just to name a few . Feel free to contact us to see how you can contribute!
